the members of the FCI General Committee were invited to tour the new offices of
the FCI in the company of several representatives of the Société Royale
Saint-Hubert. Besides, a representative of the Thuin City Council, the FCI staff,
and all those who had contributed to the renovation of the building had been invited
to the official inauguration. Mr. Canivet, the architect, was awarded the Bronze
Medal of the FCI in recognition of his excellent work. Mr Müller expressed
the FCI’s appreciation for the City of Thuin by also awarding the Bronze Medal
to the Thuin City Council representative.
Mr. Thienpoint (at that time President of the SRSH) made a point of emphasizing
the close cooperation between the FCI and the Société Royale Saint-Hubert
by donating a marvelous painting portraying a Groenendael. It immediately found
a suitable place in the museum. The General Committee seized the opportunity to
also present donations meant to supplement the museum‘s existing collection
of exhibits.
A bit of history
The FCI settled in Thuin in 1954. In 1994, the General Secretariat moved to its current address following the acquisition of the first part of the building. Later, in 1997, the second part was purchased, as it had become necessary to enlarge the General Secretariat and to provide considerably more space to the staff to comfortably manage their respective functions.

FCI Museum
The FCI museum was also created in 1999, on the building’s second floor. It exhibits books, paintings, drawings and a collection of art pieces related to cynology, donated by our members from all over the world. We seize the opportunity to invite our members to send us any item which they think worth exhibiting in our museum, as a typical representation of their support and love for the dog in their own country.
